This position plays a pivotal role in preparing trainees for operational responsibilities by teaching aircraft system introductions, troubleshooting methodologies, and ensuring a comprehensive understanding of occupational health and safety. The role demands an individual with a strong background in aviation maintenance education, preferably holding an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics Certificate, and experience in classroom instruction. Candidates must possess effective communication skills to interpret and convey complex technical information clearly, offering both group presentations and individual troubleshooting strategies. Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining accurate course records and assessments, auditing training documentation, developing instructional newsletters, and providing leadership within the training department. The Training Instructor will also contribute to performance evaluation processes by assisting management in identifying development needs and fostering continuous professional growth. This position requires a flexible approach due to travel commitments that can reach up to 50 percent, including overnight and weekend assignments. The physical demands of the role vary and include walking, standing, climbing, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working around moving mechanical parts and be adaptable to outdoor environmental conditions such as open-air hangars. A proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite is advantageous to efficiently manage instructional materials and documentation.
