The current opportunity is for a Part-time Critical Care Transport Emergency Medical Technician (CCT EMT). This role involves responding to both emergency and non-emergency medical transport requests, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care and support during transit. The position requires working at Children's Hospital locations in Centennial Airport and Colorado Springs, specifically serving patients from newborns to young adults up to 22 years old. This specialized focus on pediatric and young patient care highlights the critical nature and responsibility of the role.
The CCT EMT is primarily responsible for the safe operation of the Critical Care ground ambulance, managing its maintenance, and assisting the flight crew during patient care. Tasks include driving the ambulance with utmost safety, performing routine maintenance checks such as fuel, oxygen, and air supply, and ensuring the vehicle is always ready for transport. The EMT will work closely with the flight crew to care for patients during transport, including loading and unloading patients safely into ambulances, fixed-wing airplanes, or helicopters.
This position emphasizes teamwork and communication, requiring the EMT to assist with daily equipment checklists, participate in mandatory monthly staff meetings, and contribute to projects aimed at enhancing the transport program’s goals. The hourly wage for this position starts at $19.00 with credit given for experience, and can go up to $30.40 per hour. Employment is part-time, allowing a flexible schedule while playing an essential role in critical patient care and transport.
