The Catering Coordinator role at Plum Market is designed for an individual passionate about hospitality and catering operations, tasked with driving catering sales and coordinating event execution from start to finish. This position requires a hands-on leader who can manage all aspects of the catering process, from sales and banquet event order (BEO) creation to production logistics and post-event follow-up. Working closely with the Prepared Foods Department, the Catering Coordinator ensures operational excellence and a superior guest experience during every catering event. Ideal candidates are confident communicators, highly organized, proactive, and capable of balancing attention to detail, deadlines, and creativity. A strong background in catering coordination or event planning is essential, with a minimum of two years' experience preferred. The role demands the ability to manage logistics, sales, and event execution, maintain detailed records and documentation, and foster lasting relationships with catering clients. Additionally, the coordinator plays a key role in training and mentoring team members in catering operations and promoting Plum Market's products and catering capabilities. The position includes working flexible hours, which may involve nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as performing physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and handling heavy items. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in catering coordination event planning or food service management
- Proven ability to manage catering logistics sales and event execution
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to create and manage BEOs and follow-up documentation per SOP
- Comfort with technology including use of tablets presentation tools and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break
- Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects climb ladders lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and push pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs unassisted
