This part-time Cashier/Food Service Worker role is based at CSU San Bernardino Admin, located at 5500 University Parkway, San Bernardino, CA 92407. Emphasis is placed on applicants with a flexible, open availability schedule as working days and hours may vary. Working hours and further scheduling details are shared during the interview process. The pay range for this position is competitive, ranging from $16.50 to $18.00 per hour. The responsibilities of the Cashier/Food Service Worker include operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, assisting the chef with food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness in the coffee and cashier stations. This position plays a key role in supporting the food service operations by preparing various foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts, as well as catering orders when required. The role also involves cashier duties like accurately handling cash transactions, making deposits, and ensuring a smooth customer service experience in retail areas. Other essential tasks include general cleaning, trash removal, stocking and rotating food products according to health standards, recording inventory and temperature checks, and setting up service lines to ensure compliance with food safety regulations. The position has a strong focus on maintaining high standards of hygiene, food quality, and customer satisfaction. This role is vital for ensuring that all food items served are prepared and stored following safety guidelines, with accurate temperature monitoring and adherence to the first-in, first-out rotation system. The Cashier/Food Service Worker will also be involved in daily replenishment of pantries and refrigerators to keep products well-stocked and ready for service.
