The Head Cashier role is a pivotal leadership position within our retail operations. This role requires an individual who can effectively supervise and support cashiers by managing checkout and return transactions efficiently and accurately. In addition to overseeing the self-checkout area, the Head Cashier is responsible for expediting price checks, approving point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across various sales points, including mainline registers, returns, pro desk, special services, and tool rental. The role demands excellent customer service skills to provide first-level escalation for customer issues, ensuring conflicts are resolved promptly and satisfactorily. Additionally, the Head Cashier plays a crucial role in the training, coaching, and development of front-end associates, particularly new cashiers.
