The Head Cashier expedites price checks, approves Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various departments including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. This role acts as the first point of escalation for customer issues, ensuring that concerns are resolved promptly and satisfactorily. Furthermore, the Head Cashier plays an essential part in the development of the cashier team by assisting in the supervision, coaching, and training of Front End Associates. They participate actively in the onboarding of new Cashiers and leverage all available tools to coach and cultivate the performance of existing team members. The preferred candidate for the Head Cashier role has at least one year of experience in cashiering, demonstrating a solid understanding of customer service excellence and operational procedures within a retail checkout environment.
