The Sous Chef position at Miami Valley School, located in Dayton, Ohio, presents an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional to contribute to this mission. This full-time role plays a critical part in supporting the Executive Chef by preparing and cooking meals according to approved recipes, maintaining production standards, and ensuring a seamless kitchen operation. The Sous Chef will supervise hourly foodservice associates, oversee inventory and supplies, and maintain food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with state and federal guidelines. This role requires the ability to manage kitchen activities during the absence of the Executive Chef and to interact with customers to maintain high service standards. Candidates for this position should have at least three years of experience as a Sous Chef, preferably within an educational setting. The role demands solid leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to promoting a culture of excellence and inclusion. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday with varied hours and some weekend shifts, providing a dynamic yet balanced working environment.
