This role is designed to ensure that customers receive an outstanding shopping experience characterized by accuracy, friendliness, and operational efficiency. The cashier is a front-line role that involves scanning, pricing, and bagging products accurately, handling payment collection, and providing precise change when necessary. It is essential that the associate adheres to the company policies and safely carries out all tasks assigned. The cashier position is more than just a transactional role; it requires someone who can interact pleasantly with customers, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and supports the store by helping with various operational duties such as price checks, returns, and inventory handling. The job demands physical stamina, as it involves standing or walking for the entire shift, handling merchandise, and working in diverse environmental conditions. The associate will have responsibilities including but not limited to cash register operation, cash control, merchandise returns, coupon redemption, price checks, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards as well as compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Training and adherence to company standards are critical, from handling products and equipment safely to maintaining compliance with hygiene protocols and Company HAZCOM guidelines. The role demands punctuality, regular attendance, and a proactive stance in supporting team functions like filling staffing gaps and monitoring break schedules.
