The Campus Executive Chef (CEC) role at ISS/GEI is a pivotal leadership position overseeing a multi-unit culinary program to ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service are maintained. This position operates within a multi-unit account environment partnering closely with account leadership to implement culinary best practices, guidelines, policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and approved menu standards using NetMenu application systems. The CEC is responsible for overseeing hiring processes, culinary training program adherence, menu programming, procurement compliance, budgetary support, and menu innovation to uphold ISS/GEI’s commitment to excellence. The role further entails facilitating new unit start-up processes, ensuring procurement integrity, and fostering communication within the culinary leadership team. As a safety steward, the CEC ensures kitchen cleanliness, food safety, allergen control, HACCP guidelines, and NSF standards are rigorously followed to provide a safe environment for employees and guests alike.
The role demands strong competencies in communication, diversity awareness, customer focus, drive, dependability, stress tolerance, flexibility, and integrity. The CEC must be adept at handling complex information with tact and diplomacy, embracing diverse perspectives, delivering excellent customer service, and working effectively under pressure. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and adherence to dress codes and safety protocols during high-pressure, deadline-driven periods.
Compensation for this full-time position ranges from $110,000 to $123,000 annually, with exact salary determined based on experience and skills. - Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in culinary management or executive chef role
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work up to 8 hours on feet
