The Café Manager role at Urban Air Merrillville is a dynamic hands-on leadership position responsible for the overall management and smooth operation of the Urban Air Café. This role requires a leader who is proactive and highly engaged, spending much of their time in both the kitchen and service areas to prepare, cook, and serve food. The Café Manager is critical in ensuring that all team members work efficiently, maintain high standards, and provide exceptional customer service. Working fast with a sense of urgency while maintaining a friendly attitude towards guests and supportive approach towards the team is central to success in this position. Along with daily operational responsibilities, the Café Manager supports process execution, inventory control, and staff training to consistently meet or exceed quality and hygiene standards.
The role involves managing deliveries, controlling inventory to minimize waste, and fostering a clean and organized kitchen and dining environment. The Café Manager sets expectations for punctuality, attendance, and attitude, acting as a role model inspiring the team to embody the company’s culture and values. In addition, the manager responds to guest concerns and participates in staff meetings and ongoing training programs to support continuous improvement.
