Oshkosh Airport Services is a dedicated segment of the company focusing on maintenance services for airlines throughout North America. The role offered is for a Maintenance Repair Technician 1 (MRT 1) who will be primarily responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of PLC-controlled baggage handling and conveyor systems along with related equipment and components. The technician will perform mechanic duties encompassing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair. Operational support duties include resolving baggage jams, driving airport-related vehicles such as golf carts, forklifts, and company vehicles, and providing accurate maintenance data entry into the company's computerized maintenance management system. This position requires the ability to respond promptly to maintenance calls and to comply strictly with company safety programs and trainings.
The work environment for the MRT 1 is dynamic and demanding, reflective of typical airport operations with vehicular traffic, exposure to moving mechanical parts, elevated areas, outdoor weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise levels. The employee will work on airport ramps around aircraft and heavy equipment. Physical demands include activities such as standing, walking, climbing, handling mechanical parts, and lifting up to 49 pounds regularly. The job requires good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work in sometimes confined spaces.
