The role of General Manager of Aircraft Fueling at UGE involves critical oversight of fueling operations at the Nashville International Airport (BNA). This leadership position is responsible for managing UGE personnel and ensuring compliance with all operational, safety, quality, and regulatory standards mandated by United Ground Express, United Airlines, and relevant authorities such as the FAA, TSA, and CBP. The General Manager is essential to the day-to-day operational and financial success of the station, overseeing fueling processes to ensure efficiency, safety, and exemplary service delivery. This role demands strong leadership skills, an ability to foster a positive team environment, and a focus on accountability to maintain professional standards and effectively handle operational challenges.
As General Manager, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating fueling activities by reviewing flight schedules and operational data to optimize performance logistics. You will maintain station facilities and equipment, conduct regular inspections to uphold quality and safety standards, and manage compliance with internal audits and controls. Your leadership will extend to managing vendor performance, overseeing station budgets, and enhancing operational efficiency. The position requires flexibility to work beyond scheduled hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational needs.
In addition to operational duties, you will cultivate a positive workplace culture, ensuring strong employee relations and teamwork. You will lead, coach, and develop your team, managing hiring, training, performance appraisals, and employee discipline as needed. Effective communication and collaboration with airport authorities, vendors, unions, and internal divisions will be part of your responsibilities. Candidates are expected to have proficiency in fueling commercial aircraft, at least two years of fueling or airport operations experience, and a solid understanding of ATA Spec 103 and NFPA 407 standards. The role requires a detail-oriented, goal-driven leader committed to operational excellence with excellent communication and organizational skills. Being comfortable working in all weather conditions and possessing a valid US driver’s license are prerequisites. This position is based in the Nashville area, with relocation assistance available. - Must be flexible to work all shifts and, when necessary, available 7 days a week / 24 hours a day, including holidays and weekends
