The role of Line Clearance Crew Supervisor at Wright Tree Service is designed for experienced professionals who oversee crew operations responsible for tree trimming and vegetation management surrounding energized power lines. The supervisor’s role is vital in planning daily work assignments, ensuring work is executed in compliance with accepted line clearance practices, and fostering a safe and productive work environment. Responsibilities include directing the crew, enforcing safety policies consistent with company standards and OSHA regulations, conducting safety training, and maintaining strong customer relations. Supervisors must be knowledgeable about tree species identification, arboricultural techniques, electrical circuits, and safe herbicide application procedures. They also manage equipment maintenance, cost control, and emergency response efforts. The role demands adaptability to various weather and terrain conditions and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders such as property owners, utility representatives, and emergency responders.
This position requires strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle stressful situations and multitask on a regular basis. - Has minimum of 3 years’ experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews
- Possess excellent leadership skills and able to handle stressful situations and multi-task
- Basic knowledge of trees, identification, growth habits, and arboricultural techniques near energized conductors
- Knowledge of American National Standards for Tree Care Operations (ANSI Z133.1-2000)
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and reading circuit maps
- Ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing
- Enforces on-the-job safety practices
- Able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Able to enter and exit vehicle multiple times per day
- Able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather including rain, heat, sun, cold, snow
- Able to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions and information
- Able to communicate professionally representing Wright Tree Service
- Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds infrequently and 30 pounds frequently
- Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies including holidays, weekends, and storm work
- Ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and medical card required
- Able to pass pre-employment drug test
- Maintains herbicide applicator or operator certification and license as required
- Must have valid First-Aid and CPR cards
