The role of Account Manager within The Blood Connection's Donor Resources Department is pivotal to the organization's success. This position is responsible for managing a designated territory with the goal of maximizing blood drive production through effective management of existing accounts and identifying new opportunities. The Account Manager works closely with the Donor Resources management team to not only meet but exceed collection targets and inventory needs. This position requires the ability to build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with community partners, donor groups, and corporate sponsors. Essential to success in this role is personalized and proactive planning, thorough marketing, and consistent communication with blood drive coordinators and stakeholders.
In this role, the Account Manager executes recruitment, retention, and management strategies for sponsor groups, ensuring that all blood drive goals are aligned with divisional resources and organizational needs. This entails holding stakeholders accountable, promoting creativity in campaigns to boost donor turnout, and implementing all marketing programs established by The Blood Connection. The job demands strong teamwork within the division to meet collective goals and proactive committee formation for donor recruitment and volunteer participation. The Account Manager also takes the initiative to educate the community about the organization’s mission by representing The Blood Connection at various public events such as health fairs, marketing events, houses of worship, and employee meetings.

- College degree preferred
- outside sales and/or marketing experience of 2 years preferred or related experience
- public speaking ability to sell The Blood Connection to all groups in the community
- experience with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- valid driver’s license with no major infractions and dependable transportation
- ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to patrons, donors, sponsors, and co-workers
- ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
