Within this dynamic and fast-paced environment, the Fishers Event Center has an immediate opening for a part-time Bartender to join their Food and Beverage team. This role reports directly to the Food and Beverage Manager or Assistant Manager and operates on an hourly non-exempt employment basis. The Bartender's primary responsibility is to stock, prepare, and serve alcoholic beverages to patrons in various settings such as bars, concession stands, and beer trailers during both catered and non-catered events. This role requires a strong understanding of beverage service, inventory management, and customer interaction. The position demands excellent attention to detail to ensure bar stations are set up properly and maintained in a clean and organized manner, observing all company policies and procedures. Additional duties include reading Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure accurate bar setup, accounting for all bar stock through meticulous opening and closing inventories, and managing waste and spoilage to minimize costs. The Bartender also greets guests courteously, providing excellent service while adhering to beverage regulations. Effective operation of Point of Sale (POS) systems to process sales accurately is required, along with the ability to handle cashier responsibilities and manage paperwork related to physical inventory stand sheets and price verification on beverage menus. Safety and sanitation are paramount, and the Bartender must maintain safe working conditions and a sanitary work area for all employees. The role entails planning for daily sales flow based on event projections, reinforcing the need for time management and organizational skills. Working hours are variable and depend on the event schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include the ability to stoop, lift up to 30 lbs, walk, and stand for extended periods. Successful candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid Indiana Server Liquor License, and have completed the Indiana Excise training courses. Additionally, passing a background check and credit screening are prerequisites for employment. This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $15 to $19 per hour in addition to tips.
