This position is a Food and Beverage Service Role within one of Azul Hospitality's hotel outlets, dedicated to enhancing guest encounters in the food and beverage service area. The core responsibility of this role is to provide friendly, courteous, and efficient quality presentation of food and beverage service to all guests. This role entails taking customer orders, describing menu items, and suggesting menu options to enhance customer experience and increase sales through up-sell opportunities. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffee drinks, teas, artisan beverages, as well as accompanying pastries and cookies. Preparing all drinks and food items according to the outlet and company standards ensures consistency and quality. In addition to food and beverage service, the role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in all preparation and service areas. This includes cleaning tables, floors, utensils, and equipment, as well as ensuring that supplies related to coffee service are always stocked and accessible. Operational responsibilities include operating the cash register or POS system accurately to handle customer payments, making change as needed, and adhering to company policies regarding cash handling and customer service. Working safely and maintaining a healthy environment by following sanitation regulations and company safety policies is a critical aspect of the role. The Food and Beverage Service team member is also expected to respond calmly during busy periods or unusual events, providing a stable and positive example for other team members. The role may also involve assisting with guest inquiries, reporting maintenance or safety concerns, and performing other duties as assigned by supervisors. Physical demands of the position include the ability to work in a controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, the capacity to stand and move actively for extended periods, and the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 45 lbs. The role requires various physical abilities such as bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, repetitive wrist and hand motions, and visual and auditory acuity to maintain service quality and safety standards. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with guests and team members. The candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, knowledgeable in basic computer applications such as MS Office and POS systems, and demonstrate strong customer service and issue resolution skills. Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those with 1-3 years of food service experience and at least one year of customer service experience. Certifications required include Safe Server Alcohol and Food Handlers certification and California RBS Certification.
