Barista - Part-time

This role is for a Starbucks Barista who will work under the general supervision of the Starbucks Shift Supervisor. The Barista will be responsible for preparing hot and cold beverages, serving packaged and prepared foods, compiling routine food orders, receiving and putting away deliveries, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the store. Additionally, the candidate will operate the computerized point of sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately. The Barista must have a deep knowledge of the Starbucks menu options to efficiently assist and advise customers. The role requires the ability to serve hot coffee and tea beverages, use and operate all appropriate equipment safely, and respond politely and promptly to customer requests, queries, or issues. Handling cash and credit card transactions correctly with adherence to proper funds handling practices is critical. The Barista should be capable of working calmly under pressure and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Maintaining the store's organization, stocking supplies, and ensuring health and safety rules are followed are also key responsibilities. Employee compliance with mandatory education, health requirements, and organizational policies is expected to uphold operational standards and customer safety. Critical skills include the ability to learn quickly, understand and follow written and oral instructions, strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the physical stamina required to stand for long periods, lift equipment, and perform tasks demanding physical exertion. The work environment may expose the employee to noise, moisture, and heat, typical of a busy food service area.
