Barista - Part-time

The Brewista role is a vital position within our coffee stand, primarily part-time, offering pay between $15 and $21 per hour including base plus tips. Brewistas are responsible for much more than simply preparing drinks; they engage with customers to understand and fulfill their orders with precision and care. They handle orders through our point-of-sale system, collect payments accurately, and ensure all drinks are crafted to perfection. Movement and productivity are key aspects of the role—Brewistas must always operate with urgency, prioritizing customer time and maintaining a proactive approach throughout every shift, even when business is slow. Brewistas are ambassadors of kindness and warmth, making personal connections with customers through genuine conversation, smiles, and positive body language. They possess thorough knowledge of the menu and drink customizations and are adept at helping customers discover or fine-tune their preferred beverages by offering informed suggestions and recommendations. This role requires individuals to bring their best selves daily—demonstrating excellent personal hygiene, suitable attire, and a positive attitude. Beyond interactions with customers, Brewistas also work closely with their teammates and vendor partners, fostering a respectful and supportive work environment. They adhere to safety and sanitation standards to maintain a healthy workplace and are familiar with shift change procedures and weekly duties that ensure the smooth operation of the stand. The ability to handle physical demands—such as standing for long hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions—is essential. Flexibility is a key part of the Brewista role. The work schedule can include early mornings starting as early as 5 a.m., late nights until 11:30 p.m., weekends, and holiday shifts when needed. Communication regarding time off follows established company procedures to ensure a well-managed team schedule.
