Performance Hospitality Management (PHM) manages the Holiday Inn and Suites located in Orlando, FL, a well-known hotel establishment that caters to travelers seeking comfortable accommodations and excellent hospitality. As part of its commitment to providing top-tier service, PHM operates various food and beverage outlets within its properties, ensuring guests have access to high-quality dining experiences. The Holiday Inn and Suites Orlando combines a welcoming atmosphere with efficient service, making it a favored destination for both leisure and business travelers. In the role of Barista, the position is full-time and offers an hourly wage of $16.00. This position is pivotal in creating memorable guest experiences at the hotel’s dining venues. The Barista is responsible for crafting consistent, high-quality beverages, including espresso-based drinks, teas, cold brews, and seasonal specials. This role demands a balance of speed, precision, and hospitality, requiring adherence to food safety standards and the ability to operate Point of Sale (POS) systems accurately. The Barista must skillfully dial-in espresso and grinders, calibrate shots, steam milk to the proper texture and temperature, and pour clean latte art, all while maintaining an organized, clean bar area. Beyond beverage preparation, the Barista plays a key role in guest service by greeting customers warmly, making recommendations, and responding to inquiries about coffee beans, roasts, and flavor notes. Managing order queues, upselling pastries and retail items, and resolving customer concerns with professionalism are integral duties. The Barista must ensure bar readiness, maintain cleanliness by following rigorous schedules, and practice food safety compliance, including proper handling of dairy and alternative milks and logging temperature checks. Cash handling and POS operation are also important responsibilities to ensure smooth transactions and balanced cash banks at the end of shifts. Additionally, the Barista prepares house-made syrups and sauces, brews coffee and tea to specifications, and manages inventory by receiving deliveries and monitoring stock levels. The role entails daily equipment care such as backflushing espresso machines, cleaning grinders, and monitoring water filtration and machine temperature to maintain optimal performance. Effective teamwork and communication skills are required to support front-of-house runners, coordinate with kitchen and pastry teams, and provide shift notes and handovers. This position comes with an attractive benefits package, including competitive salary and performance bonuses, full medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid time off including vacation and holidays, professional development opportunities, employee discounts across PHM properties, wellness programs, and flexible working arrangements. PHM champions diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring an equal opportunity workplace for all qualified candidates, encouraging applications from a wide range of backgrounds. This role offers a fulfilling career path for candidates passionate about coffee culture, guest service, and working in a dynamic hotel environment.
