This opportunity invites applications for the full-time position of Barista at UAB St. Vincent's Hospital located at 810 St. Vincent Drive, Birmingham, AL. The role offers an hourly wage range of $15.00 to $15.50 and features a rotating shift schedule that includes every other weekend. Baristas have a critical role in preparing and serving coffee, espresso, and related food and beverage items while adhering to HACCP food safety standards. The position requires at least one year of prior Barista experience and demands a strong focus on customer service, quality control, and maintaining a clean and efficient service environment. In this role, the Barista is responsible for preparing espresso drinks and other menu items by following standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and quality. They use POS systems to process orders and payments efficiently while maintaining accuracy. The role also includes restocking supplies, sanitizing equipment, and ensuring that food and beverages are presented attractively and served at appropriate temperatures. Customer interaction is a significant aspect, requiring a courteous and friendly demeanor to promote satisfaction and repeat business. The Barista acts as a customer advocate, explaining menu options clearly and promoting sales through effective communication. This position also supports the broader team by performing additional assigned duties that contribute to a seamless operation.
