This position plays a crucial role in creating the Starbucks Experience by delivering legendary customer service combined with prompt preparation and service of quality beverages and products. As a full-time barista working 40 hours per week, the candidate can expect a variable and rotating schedule that requires adaptability and commitment. Compensation for this role ranges from $18.50 to $27.75 per hour, dependent on qualifications, experience, and skills. The role requires proficiency in cash handling and register procedures and involves performing preventative maintenance on equipment. Due to the high level of contact with hospital staff, customers, and team members, excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a demanding, fast-paced setting are essential. This role suits individuals who have prior customer service experience and who can complete necessary training to achieve Barista certification with a score of at least 90%. Previous barista experience is a plus but not mandatory. The working environment involves physical demands including constant standing and walking, occasional lifting up to 40 pounds, and frequent use of POS and bar equipment.
