This job opportunity is with a well-established and dynamic hospitality company seeking a dedicated Bar Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of bar operations. As a Bar Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the atmosphere and success of the bar, ensuring that it becomes known as the best corner bar in town. This position is designed for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating memorable guest experiences through skillful management of the bar team and operational excellence.
The Bar Manager will be responsible for supervising and managing all bar operations, including staffing, training, and developing a team of bartenders to deliver speed of service and accurately prepared mixed beverages consistently. You will be instrumental in controlling beverage costs, production, labor, and maintaining beverage quality to optimize profits. Driving sales through innovative local marketing campaigns and promotions will also be a key function of this role.
In this leadership position, you will work closely with team members to identify operational opportunities to build sales and control costs while maintaining competitive positioning in the market by being knowledgeable about competitors' initiatives. Your team development efforts will include conducting regular coaching and performance reviews, ensuring staff morale remains high and that all Bartenders complete their required training programs.
Daily responsibilities encompass managing shift operations, supporting staff, interacting with guests to ensure they receive an exceptional service experience, and promptly addressing any issues or complaints. You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards in cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the bar area, ensuring quality control, and overseeing inventory management in an accurate and cost-effective manner.
Your leadership will extend to managing security procedures within the bar to protect team members, guests, and company assets. In the absence of the General Manager, you will act as Manager on Duty and oversee the entire restaurant operation, ensuring that standards for service, quality, and cleanliness are upheld throughout.
Success in this role will be measured by guest satisfaction scores, quality of operations and execution, sales targets, beverage cost and waste management, labor budget adherence, and compliance with health and safety audits. The position requires a balance of strong managerial skills, operational expertise, financial acumen, and a genuine passion for guest service.
This is a full-time position suitable for candidates with prior restaurant management and bar experience who are committed to fostering a positive and productive working environment. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand and walk for long periods and handle tasks like lifting up to 30 pounds. The ideal Bar Manager will be proficient in English, have strong communication skills, and demonstrate the capacity to lead by example while inspiring a team to consistently exceed guest expectations.
