This is a full-time position dedicated to managing all facets of the bar operations with a strategic and hands-on approach.
The Bar Manager plays a pivotal role in the ongoing success of the bar by overseeing its daily functions and leading a dedicated team of bartenders to achieve excellence in service speed, beverage quality, and guest satisfaction. This role requires a strong leader who can supervise and motivate staff while managing important responsibilities such as beverage cost control, inventory management, and compliance with health and safety standards. The Bar Manager will actively engage with guests to ensure they enjoy the Fridays Service Style experience, resolving any issues promptly and maintaining high morale among team members.
In addition to operational duties, the Bar Manager will spearhead local marketing campaigns designed to increase customer traffic and optimize profits. This includes collaborating with key employees to promote events and specials, staying informed about competitors’ strategies, and identifying opportunities to enhance the bar’s sales while controlling costs effectively. The individual in this role will be expected to develop team members through ongoing coaching, training, and performance evaluations, ensuring that each bartender is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.
This position demands excellent people management skills as well as a hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making. The Bar Manager will act as a role model, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and responsiveness to both team members and guests. They will handle purchasing and production tasks, conduct inspections of suppliers, maintain accurate inventory levels, and coordinate preventive maintenance of bar equipment. This role also involves managing schedules, preparing manpower plans, and acting as Manager on Duty in the absence of the General Manager, ensuring smooth bar and restaurant operations at all times.
Success in this role will be measured through various performance indicators, including guest satisfaction scores, sales growth, budget adherence for beverage costs and labor, waste reduction, and audit scores. The Bar Manager will also be responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that supports talent retention and continuous improvement.
