The Banquet Chef role at The Center Club is a critical position responsible for managing all aspects of the banquet kitchen operations. This includes overseeing events such as golf tournaments, weddings, rehearsal dinners, private dining functions, and other social occasions hosted on the club property. The role requires a hands-on leader who can plan, organize, and lead the banquet kitchen team to deliver the finest culinary experience. The Banquet Chef will work closely with banquet managers, event coordinators, sous chef, and executive chef to ensure seamless food service execution.
As the Banquet Chef, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of selecting, ordering, and inspecting the highest quality food products. You will manage daily kitchen activities, from preparing detailed duty assignments for kitchen staff to maintaining proper food safety, storage, and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations. Your leadership will be essential in training, supervising, and evaluating kitchen staff performance, maintaining food and labor costs within budget, and upholding the club’s reputation for culinary excellence.
The position requires expertise in both hot and cold food preparation and presentation, solid communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Flexibility in working hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays will be necessary to meet event demands. The starting pay range for this position is competitive at $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience.

- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years experience as banquet chef
- Ability to speak read write and understand the primary language used in the workplace
- Ability to work and handle stress arising from demands in production
- Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to eight hours in limited space
- Ability to physically handle knives pots mirrors and other display items as well as grasp lift and carry up to 50 lbs to every area of the kitchen
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs on a regular and continuous basis
- Ability to push and pull carts up to 250 lbs
- Flexible schedule including days evenings nights weekends and some holidays
- ServeSafe Certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
