This Front of House (FOH) position is ideal for a candidate who is skilled at managing the food runner station with precision and care, presenting dishes with accurate detail, and maintaining the smooth functioning of the dining area. The role focuses heavily on ownership of table maintenance and ensuring that all service is performed in a professional manner, strictly following the style and standards specified by the Director of Food & Beverage. This position requires exceptional communication skills as the candidate must coordinate between the kitchen, restaurant staff, and other departments daily to handle service specials, shortages, and special dietary requests effectively.
The FOH team member will be responsible not only for operational excellence but also for team leadership during shifts, monitoring and improving the performance of other staff members, and contributing to continuous team development. In addition, the candidate will act as a brand ambassador, upholding the values and standards of the Ivy / Magdalena brand with every customer interaction, ensuring each guest’s needs and expectations are met with attentive hospitality. The role also involves important health and safety responsibilities such as contributing to risk assessments, monitoring compliance, and acting as a role model for safety best practices.
Physical stamina and the ability to handle various demands such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a restaurant environment exposed to typical hazards like cleaning chemicals and hot equipment are essential.
