The role of Baker at Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community is a vital position within the dining services team, responsible for preparing and baking a diverse assortment of baked goods to delight residents and guests. This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $20.00 and follows a day shift schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, including rotating weekends. The Baker will be entrusted with creating breads, rolls, cookies, pies, cakes, and pastries in adherence to established recipes and quality standards. This role requires precision in measuring and mixing ingredients, careful monitoring of baking times and oven temperatures, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in compliance with food safety regulations. As a baker at Springmoor, you will contribute significantly to the enjoyment and satisfaction of the senior community by ensuring consistency in product quality and presentation. The role also involves managing baking inventory and supplies to guarantee uninterrupted production. Creative input is encouraged, as you will have the opportunity to suggest new recipes and seasonal items that can enhance the menu and cater to residents’ preferences. Collaboration with kitchen and service staff is essential to accommodate special dietary needs and deliver an excellent culinary experience. This position demands physical stamina as it requires standing for extended periods and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. The Baker must demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A background in baking or culinary arts, along with a good understanding of food safety practices, will be critical for success in this role. Certification or formal culinary training is considered an advantage but not a strict requirement.
