The role of Mechanical Designer at Proactive Global is a critical position focused on the design and layout of large-scale mechanical systems specifically tailored for baggage handling systems in airports. The position requires a seasoned professional with a minimum of five years of experience designing mechanical layouts for conveyor systems, sortation equipment, structural supports, and other key components that facilitate the smooth operation of luggage and passenger interface systems. As a Mechanical Designer, you will create accurate 2D and 3D layouts using AutoCAD and Revit/BIM software, ensuring that every design meets rigorous performance, architectural, operational, and regulatory standards, including the TSA Program Guideline Design Standards (PGDS). This role demands close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including controls, electrical, and structural engineers, as well as architects, to resolve spatial conflicts and optimize equipment placement for maximum operational efficiency. You will be responsible for producing detailed manufacturing and installation drawings, including assembly details and equipment interface requirements, supporting the transition from design to construction. The Mechanical Designer must also perform essential mechanical calculations to size conveyors, position motors, and verify structural load capacities in concert with structural engineering input. Your expertise will extend to managing vendor-specific equipment models and specifications, integrating them into master design drawings to ensure accurate and up-to-date project documentation. • bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, or an equivalent technical field
• minimum of five years dedicated experience in mechanical design and layout for baggage handling systems or related complex conveyor systems
• proficiency in autocad and revit/bim software
• strong understanding of mechanical design principles and baggage handling equipment
