The Senior Superintendent position in the Aviation Division represents a critical leadership role for Austin Commercial’s expanding infrastructure projects. This role demands someone who brings a deep expertise in aviation construction and proven supervisory skills to oversee daily field operations on sizable job sites, particularly airport terminals, concourses, and supporting infrastructure. The position involves managing a substantial project staff, dividing duties effectively among project managers and superintendents, and ensuring a meticulous focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence. The Senior Superintendent is responsible for the overall safety on the jobsite, implementing safety plans, and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. Working closely with the project manager, the incumbent plans the physical layout of the jobsite, vehicle and equipment staging, and optimizes space for efficient workflow. They ensure that every stage of construction meets the highest quality standards, supervise subcontractor activities, provide technical guidance for problem resolution, and maintain rigorous documentation of field activities. Additionally, they play a key role in coordinating governmental inspections, managing manpower and equipment costs, and fostering effective communication among owners, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Aside from the operational oversight, the Senior Superintendent supports the career growth of the project team, nurturing leadership development, training, and performance evaluations. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of direct aviation construction field experience, a strong track record in terminal and concourse development, and comprehensive knowledge of airport processor structures, Consolidated Rental Car Centers, and the unique demands of both airside and landside construction. • B.S. in construction management, construction science, engineering, or relevant discipline preferred
• equivalent combination of education (high school diploma) and experience
• successful completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required or must obtain within first year of employment
• 10+ years aviation construction field experience including supervisory roles
• proven experience in terminal and concourse development
