The Aviation Scheduler role at the University of Oklahoma is an integral part of this flight training program, responsible for the efficient coordination and scheduling of students, flight instructors, and aircraft resources on a semester basis through the use of a specialized Flight Schedule Program (FSP). This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the daily and semester-long flight training requirements are met while maintaining compliance with aviation safety and operational standards. The Aviation Scheduler will conduct error checks and data validation within the flight scheduling system to promote accuracy and streamline workflows. Collaborating closely with the Maintenance Manager, this role also ensures that aircraft usage remains within weekly flight hour limits to support safety and maintenance protocols. Beyond scheduling, the Aviation Scheduler undertakes important administrative and financial functions including account reconciliation, budget preparation, and grant monitoring for aviation programs, working collaboratively with university departments, principal investigators, and external funding sources. The individual coordinates various program activities at a departmental and interdepartmental level, ensuring alignment with university policies and state or national guidelines. The role demands a highly organized, detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
