The role of Athletic Field Supervisor plays a vital part in supporting Greensboro Parks and Recreation's mission of providing safe, high-quality athletic programs and facilities. As an Athletic Field Supervisor, the individual will serve as front-line staff reporting to the Assistant Athletic Coordinators. The position involves enforcing athletic policies and procedures across multiple recreational venues and events, ensuring that programs run smoothly and safely for all participants. Responsibilities include preparing and setting up sports fields and facilities for various athletic programs such as baseball, basketball, cheerleading, football, kickball, and softball. The supervisor will also monitor participant eligibility, keep accurate records including scoring, time-outs, fouls, and game times, and manage crowd control to ensure safety and order during events. Emergency response readiness and the maintenance of secure and clean facilities are key components of this role. Communication is essential as the supervisor will need to report any maintenance or security concerns promptly to supervisors and conduct opening and closing procedures along with routine site checks during activities. This position requires physical activity including bending, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The position is classified as Non-Exempt under FLSA policy, reflecting its hourly wage structure and overtime eligibility.
