The Associate Box Office Manager, Client Events at Emerson College is a critical role responsible for overseeing the operational success of ticketed events hosted by external and internal clients within the Office of the Arts venues. This role is fundamental to ensuring seamless ticketing processes and exceptional client and patron experiences from the initial setup of events in the ticketing system through to post-event financial reconciliation and reporting. The Associate Box Office Manager manages every aspect of event ticketing, including building events in the system, creating seating maps, setting up discount codes, managing ticket inventory, and coordinating with clients and internal departments.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining excellent communication with staff and clients. They will work independently but have access to support and guidance from the Senior Box Office Manager when needed. This position demands a thorough understanding of ticketing software (preferably Spektrix), financial auditing, customer service excellence, and proactive problem-solving skills to address issues before they impact event operations.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $57,250 to $70,200 annually, commensurate with experience, and includes a robust benefits package. The benefits include health insurance, dental plans, a 403(b) retirement plan with a 9% employer contribution once eligible, generous time-off programs, and additional coverage options such as life and disability insurance. Staff scheduled to work 20 or more hours weekly are eligible for these benefits. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in box office management or event management
- 3 to 5 years of experience in customer service or client service roles
- Proficiency in using ticketing or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
- Experience with Spektrix ticketing software preferred
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Competency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Ability and willingness to learn new software
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize ticket sales trends and patron data
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capacity to maintain focus for long periods while sitting
- Willingness to work in a shared office environment with varying degrees of noise and foot traffic
