We are currently seeking a highly motivated and creative Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at Hyatt Regency Houston. The Sous Chef role is pivotal in overseeing all day-to-day operations at Gulf & Prairie, ensuring seamless food preparation, exceptional quality, and superior guest satisfaction in a high-volume, high-visibility setting. This position provides an exciting opportunity for a culinary leader to shape menu offerings, manage kitchen staff, and contribute to the development of a culture of innovation and excellence within the restaurant. The successful candidate will manage all food and beverage aspects of the hotel’s venues and catered events, working closely with the Executive Chef. Although guidance will be provided from the Executive Chef regarding menus and concepts, the Sous Chef is expected to operate with a degree of independence akin to that of an operator, making critical decisions that impact the culinary output and overall guest experience. This role involves supervising kitchen teams, developing creative menu items for both the restaurant and special events, coordinating holiday functions, and maintaining strict standards for food quality, cost control, and consistency.   • Culinary degree or certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years in a high-volume restaurant kitchen preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years management or supervisory experience preferred
