The Assistant Food Service Manager supports the Food Service Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the food service department, ensuring adherence to the company’s operational pillars. This includes managing inventory and product offerings such as jerky, smoked meats, sausage, BBQ, bakery items, sandwiches, grab-and-go options, tacos, burritos, and hot dogs. The manager also addresses customer issues promptly and professionally, applies federal, state, and local food safety and employment regulations, and ensures high standards of food quality and employee performance.
Moreover, this role requires using a variety of kitchen equipment, including floor mixers, slicers, ovens, fryers, and sharp knives, safely and efficiently. The Assistant Food Service Manager is also responsible for managing reports, enforcing safety regulations, and fostering positive interactions among team members and customers. The role demands a commitment to employee development and upholding the highest standards of food service in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates who are successful in this role are expected to have extensive food service experience, ideally a minimum of five years, proficiency in food preparation and sanitation, and managerial acumen. Given the physical nature of the job, candidates must be able to perform tasks that include prolonged standing or walking for at least eight hours, frequent bending, climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, balancing, pushing, and pulling loaded ice carts weighing 50 or more 20-pound bags, along with lifting products or materials weighing 40 pounds or more. The role may require relocation and working weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts between day and night.

- Restaurant, retail or management experience preferred
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant Food Service experience preferred
- Proficiency in food planning and preparation, sanitation, and food handling preferred
- Proficient skill level in MS office which includes but not limited to Excel and Outlook
- Experienced in various POS and transaction devices such as, Kiosks, Printers, Tickets, Touch Screens
- Acquire and maintain food service certifications
- May require relocation
- Work weekends and holidays
- Work a rotating schedule that may alternate between day and night
