The role of Quality Control Technician within Menzies Aviation at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is a critical position responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of aviation fuel products. This position is hourly paid at $23.00 per hour and requires the successful candidate to undergo a 30-day training program from Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm. The regular work schedule for this role is from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm on Sundays and Tuesdays, demonstrating the company's flexibility to meet operational requirements.
Quality Control Technicians play a vital role in the sampling, testing, and inspection of fuel storage facilities and equipment. Their responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to prevent spills, contamination, and equipment failures. The technician conducts inspections to ensure compliance with company policies, customer guidelines, and government regulations. The job demands a strong focus on safety, requiring adherence to all local, state, and federal safety procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
Additionally, the technician is responsible for monitoring storage tanks and related equipment, maintaining detailed logs of all fuel transactions, quality control tests, and maintenance activities to support traceability and accountability. This role requires working primarily outdoors, often in varying weather conditions, so the candidate must be comfortable with such an environment and physical demands, including lifting up to 70 pounds.

- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess and maintain a valid US driver’s license
- Must pass all pre-employment testing including a physical, color vision test, audio test, and drug test
- Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
- Handle fueling carts and fueling hoses which will require lifting and moving up to 70lbs
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must pass background check and obtain US Customs seal
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- Prior experience preferred including possession of a Commercial Driver’s License or experience in the Oil and Gas Industry
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or twelve (12) months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
