The Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead role at Sam's Club is a vital leadership position within the fresh foods segment of the store. As the department lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the prepared foods and café areas including rotisserie, deli, and other fresh-prepared meal sections. You will lead a team of hourly associates in creating and serving high-quality meals, ensuring food safety, compliance with company standards, and delivering excellent member service. The role requires you to be an expert in prepared foods production while driving sales, maintaining product quality, and managing inventory and staffing to meet the club’s business goals. Collaboration with other department leaders and third-party vendors is essential to ensure operational continuity and a positive shopping experience. Additionally, you will be responsible for coaching and developing team members, promoting a workplace culture that respects diversity and individual contributions, and enforcing company policies with integrity. This position requires proficiency in digital tools for production planning and member engagement as well as a commitment to safety and sanitation standards.
