The role of Customs Specialist - Entry Writer, located in Carson, USA, within the Air & Sea division, is a full-time position that plays a critical part in ensuring that DSV complies with customs regulations and facilitates the efficient import and export of goods. The expected base pay for this position ranges from $22.50 to $30.50 per hour. The customs specialist's primary responsibilities involve preparing and submitting accurate customs documentation such as entry forms and invoices, classifying goods according to customs regulations to determine appropriate duty rates, and coordinating with clients, carriers, and government agencies to obtain the necessary information for customs clearance. This role requires strict adherence to customs laws, including tariff classifications, valuation, and country of origin requirements, while also tracking and monitoring customs entries to ensure timely processing and the swift resolution of any issues or delays. The customs specialist acts as a key liaison with customs officials, brokers, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication to resolve customs-related inquiries or problems. Maintaining accurate records for audit purposes is an essential aspect of the job, as is staying abreast of any changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and industry practices.
