The Concierge Services team at Stony Brook Medicine plays a pivotal role within the hospital environment by enhancing the patient experience and ensuring compliance with visitation protocols and patient safety measures. In this role, the Concierge is primarily responsible for managing visitor interactions across multiple hospital points including the Main Lobby Information Desk, Children’s Lobby, and mobile kiosk locations. This position demands a high level of customer service expertise combined with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy. By serving as a vital communication bridge between visitors, patients, clinical staff, and hospital leadership, the Concierge ensures that hospital policies are observed and that visitors' concerns are addressed effectively.
The Concierge must efficiently manage visitor flow, utilize visitor management systems for accurate tracking, and enforce visitation eligibility according to established guidelines consistent with Department of Health regulations. This role also involves coordinating with various hospital departments to facilitate timely patient flow and treatment processes. Additionally, the Concierge supports hospital safety by distributing personal protective equipment (PPE) when required and educating visitors about infection control risks. The job requires flexibility, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving protocols. It may also require physical activity such as standing, walking, or assisting patients with transportation.
Employment is part-time, and the position offers an anticipated salary around $45,372 per year prorated at part-time hours.
