The role in focus here is a frontline service position within Live Nation’s Concerts Division, specifically a server or bartender role at a venue such as House of Blues. This position is essential in delivering an exceptional guest experience by anticipating and responding to guests’ needs, suggestively selling beverages and menu items, and handling orders with efficiency and professionalism. The role demands excellent interpersonal skills to answer guest queries and make recommendations, as well as to ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with the venue’s policies and local ordinances. This role requires adeptness in using Point of Sale (POS) systems to communicate drink orders to the bar, delivering drinks skillfully in a busy environment, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards throughout the shift. The server or bartender will actively circulate in their work area to maintain line of sight and atmosphere control, ensuring the safety and comfort of guests. Tasks also include removing dirty glasses and dishes, cleaning spills, and maintaining housekeeping standards according to venue policies. An essential component of the job is to verify guests' identification, especially if they appear under the age of 30, and to manage intoxicated guests safely by refusing further alcohol service courteously and escalating to management when necessary. Handling payments accurately including cash, credit cards, or traveler’s checks as per company policy is a critical duty. Collaboration with other servers and staff members to provide seamless service is also expected. The ideal candidate should be someone with a flexible schedule who can work late hours, with a minimum of 3 years of positive customer interactions experience, and knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, drink recipes, and responsible alcohol service. Certification in Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training or equivalent is mandatory. The candidate should demonstrate a tolerant and inclusive attitude towards all cultures, music, and art forms, reflecting the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. The physical demands of this role include working in a fast-paced, often loud and stressful environment, requiring prolonged periods of standing and the ability to lift or move items up to 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
