The Barista Department Supervisor role at Fred Meyer is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about exceptional customer service, coffee culture, and leadership within a fast-paced retail environment. The position focuses on ensuring the highest level of service standards by providing customers with prompt, high-quality coffee selections, preparation, and purchases. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall department conditions, maintaining quality standards, and leading your team by example. In this role, you will wear many hats, including increasing sales through effective marketing and merchandising, assisting in supervising and directing department personnel to deliver excellent customer service, and managing inventory and stock levels to ensure availability and freshness. Your leadership skills will be vital as you delegate job assignments, monitor employee performance, and maintain accountability for the department’s success. In addition to leading your team, you will also directly interact with customers by assisting in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales, preparing a variety of coffee drinks including espresso beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized customer service area.
