We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. This full-time position is essential to maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms and public areas throughout the hotel. The Housekeeper will play a critical role in upholding our reputation for cleanliness and ensuring guests enjoy a comfortable and hygienic environment during their stay.
The responsibilities of this role are varied and central to the guest experience. After each guest vacates a room, the housekeeper will thoroughly clean and disinfect all surfaces and areas, including toilets, countertops, bathtubs, showers, and eating surfaces, using proper cleaning products and techniques while adhering to safety regulations. Attention to detail is crucial, extending to dusting and polishing furniture, woodwork, light fixtures, and ceiling fans to ensure immaculate surroundings.
Floor maintenance is another key duty, requiring the housekeeper to sweep, vacuum, mop, and occasionally shampoo carpets, depending on the surface type. Beyond cleaning, the individual will be responsible for organizing and restocking guest supplies such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, beverage items, and stationery to ensure rooms are fully prepared for incoming guests.
Additionally, the housekeeper must manage linen changes, replacing soiled sheets and towels with fresh, clean items, and handling waste removal with strict adherence to health and safety standards, including recycling practices. Ensuring the cleanliness of all dining utensils through proper washing, sanitizing, and hand-polishing is also essential, along with maintaining hygienic kitchen and storage areas to meet health and safety standards.
The role may also require assistance with food storage, preparation, and rotation, contributing to the kitchen's smooth operation by preparing fresh salads, grilling, garnishing dishes, and adding seasoning according to customer preferences.
This position demands a high degree of physical fitness, as tasks involve constant standing and walking, frequent lifting of weights up to 25-60 pounds, kneeling, bending, stooping, and using ladders or stairs. Candidates must be motivated, able to work independently and under pressure, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively as part of a team. Excellent communication skills in English are essential, with a preference for those who speak a second language such as Spanish. Prior experience in the hospitality industry and a high school education or equivalent are highly preferred.
