The NISC IV program at Leidos is currently looking to hire an Air Traffic Control Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Organization (ATO), specifically working with the Office of Safety and Technical Training (AJI). This role is highly specialized and critical for the development and maintenance of technical training programs that ensure the FAA’s air traffic controllers are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills. The SME will be responsible for designing training materials for various FAA courses such as the Ten, Eleven, Twelve Radar Assessment (TETRA), TRACON Skill Enhancement Workshop (TSEW), Radar Training Facility (RTF), and Tower courses. This position requires deep expertise in FAA air traffic control operations, with a focus on technical accuracy and compliance with current training requirements. The SME will actively collaborate with stakeholders from technical organizations, FAA engineering, software development teams, and product management to gather crucial information and ensure training products meet stringent standards. Additionally, the role involves conducting assessments, quality reviews, and providing recommendations to improve training effectiveness. The individual must possess a comprehensive understanding of both Tower and Terminal air traffic control environments, with en route experience as a significant advantage. Leidos seeks candidates who have amassed substantial experience, typically a minimum of 12 years in FAA Air Traffic Control Terminal operations or a combination of education and experience that meets or exceeds this threshold. The role requires the ability to travel up to 40%, reflecting collaboration and engagement with different FAA locations and teams. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint to develop and present high-quality training content.   • BS degree and 12 plus years of FAA Air Traffic Control Terminal experience or Masters with 10 plus years of relevant experience
  • 10 years of FAA Air Traffic Control experience on both the Tower and Terminal domains
  • 2 to 4 years of experience as an FAA staff specialist
  • Working knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
