This particular job posting invites experienced helicopter pilots to join the emergency medical aviation team. These positions are for Visual Flight Rules (VFR) pilots who will operate company aircraft in compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations and internal operational manuals. The role focuses on safe and efficient aircraft operation with strong adherence to the Rotorcraft Flight Manual. As a VFR pilot, you will be responsible for monitoring weather conditions, conducting preflight inspections, logging discrepancies, and communicating with maintenance teams effectively. The role demands readiness, vigilance, and professionalism, as pilots are expected to report to their shifts rested and prepared while maintaining current awareness of forecast changes.
This posting is not for Float Pilots, but rather for several VFR positions across multiple locations. The salary range for these roles starts between $87,019 and $95,720, with the possibility of up to a 30% geographic modifier depending on location. Additional bonuses include a $15,000 sign-on bonus and a substantial $40,000 retention bonus after three years of service. Housing on duty is provided at all locations, and most operate on a seven days on/seven days off schedule, offering a balanced work-life arrangement.
The ideal candidates will be experienced helicopter pilots with a minimum of 2,000 total flight hours, including 1,500 helicopter hours and significant hours as pilot-in-command, turbine, and night flight time. Educational credentials required include a Rotorcraft-Helicopter Commercial Certificate and a Rotorcraft-Helicopter Instrument Rating, along with a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates must also meet physical requirements such as a 230-pound weight limit dressed in flight gear.
