The position of Memory Support Activity Coordinator at Valle Verde is a full-time, benefitted role that plays a vital part in enriching the lives of residents, particularly those in memory support care. Scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, this role offers an hourly pay rate ranging from $23 to $29, depending on experience. The incumbent is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring a variety of wellness and recreational programs specifically designed to meet the unique needs of residents with memory care needs. These programs aim to stimulate the mind, promote engagement, and foster a supportive and joyful community atmosphere. The Memory Support Activity Coordinator's role is multifaceted and demands creativity, empathy, and organizational skills. Duties include planning and directing diverse activities such as entertainment, cooking, educational programs, arts and crafts, games, sports, and outings—ensuring that these activities comply with all local, state, and federal regulations. Proficiency in intermediate computer skills and the ability to operate an 8-passenger van are also essential to provide seamless and safe transportation for outings. • Associate's degree with emphasis in recreation, health education, or related field
• college coursework in social work, gerontology, psychology, recreation therapy, or related field preferred
• preferably 1 or 2 years of experience in a geriatric setting or equivalent combination of training and experience
• must have valid California Driver's License
• ability to drive 8-passenger van
• able to meet state and federal regulations related to activity programming
