The Huntington is currently seeking a dedicated Custodian to join its facilities team. This full-time position operates on an evening schedule from 1:30pm to 10:00pm PST, playing a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall upkeep of The Huntington's extensive facilities. Working under direct supervision, the Custodian will be responsible for a wide range of custodial tasks, including the cleaning of restrooms, carpets, floors, furniture, windows, and exterior areas. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work carefully around valuable collections and in collaboration with other team members.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse communities and will approach all interactions with a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible mindset. The Custodian's duties also extend to assisting with special event setups, light maintenance work such as unclogging toilets and drains, and occasionally moving furniture or other equipment. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, and mandates a polite and diplomatic approach to working with both staff and the public. Compensation for this role is competitive, with a pay rate of $18.50 per hour, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee well-being and professional growth.
