As a key contributor to the success of the dining service, this role supports both the kitchen staff and dining room environment by assisting in food preparation, serving, cleaning, and inventory management.
The role is designed to support the Director of Dining Services by assisting in maintaining inventory control, supervising dietary aides in the absence of the director, and ensuring that all food service operations align with safety and cleanliness standards. The individual in this role will be responsible for maintaining logs related to kitchen cleanliness, chemical usage, and temperature controls to uphold the highest standards of food safety. Additionally, they will be tasked with monitoring the dietary department for any problems or potential issues and communicating these directly to the management team to facilitate prompt resolution. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of meal service and supporting the overall well-being of the residents.
Working in a team-oriented and resident-focused environment, this role combines both hands-on food preparation and supervisory duties. The person will assure that residents' diets are followed meticulously and that the meals served to residents, team members, and guests are accurately counted daily. The candidate will also be instrumental in sustaining a clean, neat, and safe work environment, which is fundamental to the overall dining experience and compliance with health regulations.
Candidates pursuing this position are expected to hold all the necessary licensure such as ServSafe, Food Handler's Card, and CPR/First Aid certifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols. Physically, the job requires the ability to manage tasks that involve pushing, pulling, lifting heavy loads, bending, squatting, climbing stairs, and standing or walking for extended periods.
