Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County, founded in 1888, is a united Christian organization dedicated to serving homeless women, men, and families by providing love, hope, respect, and a new beginning. The Kitchen Manager position at UGM-TC plays a vital role in supporting this mission through managing the daily operations of the kitchen. This position requires a dedicated individual who can plan and lead meal preparation, serving, and delivery—including special occasions like holiday meals and special events. The Kitchen Manager is entrusted with overseeing a diverse team of employees, volunteers, and residents, developing mentorship programs for those in food service training. This role demands a balance between operational efficiency, creativity, and hospitality to nourish not only the body but also the spirit of the mission’s guests. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating menus, managing inventory, and optimizing the use of donations to produce nutritious and balanced meals. They will ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas exceed health and safety standards, hold proper Serve Safe licensing, and lead efforts to maintain cleanliness and food safety. Beyond operations, the Kitchen Manager will engage with volunteers to foster positive experiences and cultivate a spirit of hospitality and service among team members, aligning with the Christian values at the heart of UGM-TC.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience planning and preparing meal services
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Experience in delivery of meal services in large group settings
  • Experience in controlling cost and inventory
  • Ability to obtain donations, grants and contributor assistance
  • A practicing Christian willing to serve and disciple those who enter the mission
