The Aviation Management/Career Pilot Instructor role at GTCC offers a full-time position within a dynamic academic environment dedicated to student success and professional excellence. The instructor is responsible for preparing and delivering coursework in aviation management and career pilot technology, including FAA Part 141 certified courses such as private pilot and instrument ground school. This position demands expertise in both theoretical instruction and practical flight training using simulators. Additionally, the instructor will utilize a Learning Management System to facilitate classroom instruction and support learning outcomes. Beyond teaching, the role involves active student advising, recruitment, and collaboration with aviation industry partners to align educational offerings with workforce demands. To function effectively, the individual must comply with TSA badging requirements to operate in the airport environment at Piedmont Triad International Airport and maintain FAA instructor currency. • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• valid FAA pilot certifications including Commercial Pilot Certificate, Certified Flight Instructor, and Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument
• minimum 3 years of relevant aviation industry experience
• ability to instruct FAA Part 141 curriculum flight and ground courses
• TSA badging clearance for Piedmont Triad International Airport
• ability to travel between campuses
• compliance with required training within 30 days of hire
• ability to teach day or evening classes
• physical capability for long periods of standing and walking
• ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds
• successful completion of criminal background check
