As a Cleaning Staff member, your responsibilities encompass general cleaning duties that cover various parts of the community, including floors, furniture, bathrooms, laundry facilities, baseboards, door facings, and walls. You will implement safety measures like placing warning signs during floor cleaning to protect residents, visitors, and employees. Maintaining supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissues is a vital part of your job, ensuring the community's hygiene needs are consistently met. Your role also involves managing cleaning inventories and purchasing chemical and housekeeping supplies, operating within the facility's budget, and keeping accurate purchase records for administrative purposes. You must eliminate unpleasant odors and empty trash cans regularly to maintain a clean living environment. Your duties go beyond cleaning, as you will help maintain the self-respect, dignity, and physical safety of residents, working cooperatively with staff and communicating positively with residents and their families. Adherence to confidentiality standards concerning resident information is mandatory. You will also be expected to familiarize yourself with and apply all relevant safety and emergency standards and policies, including accident prevention and fire safety protocols. Participation in job-related continuing education is encouraged to ensure compliance with home policies and updates in safety and cleaning procedures. This role demands high responsibility, including securing cleaning supplies when not in use to prevent unauthorized access, treating Adult Care Home equipment carefully, and faithfully following the home’s policies. • Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull minimum of 50 pounds
• Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program
• Must have a clear SBI and DMV record and maintain them during period of employment
• Must have a two-step tuberculin skin test (first test prior to hire and second test within two weeks of first test)
