In addition, the position requires maintaining cleanliness in the dining and kitchen areas through tasks such as sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, emptying garbage, and organizing stockrooms and refrigerators. The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in helping sustain the overall dining experience for adult care home residents. They ensure tables are correctly set up with necessary items like butter, jelly, sugar, and sweetener packets. Beyond food and beverage service, the aide supports the dignity and respect of each resident by adhering to resident rights, handling facilities' equipment and supplies responsibly, and complying with all care home policies and regulations. Candidates for this position should demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and the physical capability to perform duties such as lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds. They must also hold a clear background according to the North Carolina Personnel Registry and Health Care Program, maintain a clear State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) record, and adhere to safety protocols such as wearing slip-resistant shoes. The Dietary Aide must complete a two-step tuberculin skin test to ensure health compliance before and shortly after hire. This role requires a minimum age of 16 and a commitment to continuing education as mandated by the facility's administration.
