We are currently seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (Mixed Caseload) to join the DARS team in Fairfax. This position, classified under the state role title Counselor II, offers a starting salary minimum of $68,898, adjusted based on experience and qualifications. As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, you will play a critical role in partnering with individuals with disabilities to enhance their employment opportunities and independent living through comprehensive vocational rehabilitation services. Your duties will include providing guidance, counseling, job training, education, physical and mental restoration services, and job placement assistance. The caseload includes students and adults with disabilities from 26 Fairfax County schools, city programs, mental health centers, and local workforce centers. This role requires a nuanced understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and a commitment to delivering personalized, goal-oriented services. Your work will directly impact the lives of clients by supporting them in making informed career choices and navigating barriers to employment, fostering a greater sense of autonomy and inclusion in the workforce.  - Ability to effectively communicate and maintain relationships
